Embrace Change and Discover a More Passionate Life
If you’re here, you’re likely facing change and heartache. It’s tough, but you don’t have to navigate this alone.
I have experienced that even in the midst of struggle, there’s hope for rediscovery and growth. I’m here to support you through this experience so that you find that hope for yourself.
Times of upheaval can be a chance for renewal and deeper self-awareness.
This has been my focus since I was fourteen.
Remember, you’re not alone. Alive and Mortal is a supportive community where we’re all here for each other, working through challenges together and finding strength.
I’m glad you’ve found us.

CEREMONIES AND RITUALS
THESE ARMS ARE HONED.
AS AN EXPERIENCED EVENT PRODUCER AND MINISTER. YOU CAN TRUST ME WHEN YOU PUT YOUR RITUAL IN MY ARMS.
You can draw on my previous career as an event producer - who ran events as large as 4,000+ attendees per day - and my years of experience as an interfaith minister.
Your ritual or service is a singular event... and this gathering of loved ones will never happen in this particular way again. This is a "sacred" time - a time set apart from the ordinary. I am experienced in holding the tender, profound energy of your sacred moments.
I perform ceremonies and services because I love doing them and know they are transformative experiences. It is an honor to be invited into the important moments of people's lives. Every ritual or service is unique. Whether it is a memorial, baby dedication, renewal of vows, or a wedding... I enjoy bringing people together and focusing on the things that matter most in my life. We can blend faith traditions or create something entirely new!
For couples who are marrying after a loss - I am a certified PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator. PREPARE/ENRICH is a leading relationship inventory and skill-building program that significantly improves a couple's relationship. I schedule 1 - 3 sessions with couples to prepare and enrich their bonds.
“I have noticed that since I have started working with Kim that my grief has lightened and that my own sense of humor has reawakened. I definitely feel less loneliness. She is one of the very best I have encountered.” -SR

About Kim
Kim is a ritualist deeply rooted in both ancient and modern traditions. Drawing on the wisdom of her ancestors and contemporary practices, she offers guidance and support in navigating life's transitions.
Her ancestors originated primarily from the Scottish borders, a majority began migrating to the U.S. in the late 1800s. Kim now lives on the unceded lands of the Luiseño and Kumeyaay peoples.
Kim is engaged in various healing practices, including land reparations, ritual offerings, and serving as an Anam Cara ("Soul Friend") and Death Midwife. She has served as a Minister of Congregational Life in a multi-faith congregation and led numerous expressive arts workshops for non-profit organizations. She also runs the Compassionate Workplace Program, helping grieving teams and communities.
Her education includes post-graduate studies in Art Therapy through the American Art Therapy Association, along with training as a Spiritual Director, Life Coach, and Hospice Volunteer. Kim’s additional studies in ancestral healing and nature connection further enhance her expertise.
Recently, she has focused on interactive social health initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of dying and grieving individuals, addressing the issues of a "death and grief phobic culture."
Kim is currently working on a book about Compassionate Embodied Grief Practices and has contributed to various publications, including the study guide for Francis Weller's Entering the Healing Ground, articles in various publications, and a book chapter for Open to Hope.
Kim holds a Bachelor's degree in Theater Arts and Music and a Master's degree in Theology (M.Div), with a focus on spiritual formation through the non-verbal, natural world, Celtic spirituality, and creative arts.
Through her work with Alive and Mortal, Kim continues her commitment to supporting the community, especially during times of impermanence.
“Kim gave me clarity in many ways. She introduced me to the tools I need to get through difficult situations. I liked the practical suggestions she made. I gained self love. She helped me see that it is ok for me to put myself first and that it was ok to set boundaries. I have recommended her to friends because Kim really understands. I never felt judged, I felt safe. After every session I felt I more healing.” - SC
